We are excited to be running our Volunteer’s Course of Preparation to recruit and train more people like you to support our local families.
Can you be there for a local parent?
To let them know they are not alone, that parenting is hard, that it will be overwhelming and exhausting at times, that you know how that feels.
We are recruiting for Family Support Volunteers to join our team, offering face to face support to local families. You will receive a 5 week training course and full supervision and support from our staff team. Our next course of preparation will start Monday 13th April 2026
All the sessions are being held at Newcastle Baptist Church, Stafford Avenue, Newcastle, ST5 3BN
Starting at 9.30am – 2.30pm. A light lunch and refreshments will be provided.
Monday 13th April – Introduction to Home-Start
Monday 20th April – Role of a volunteer
Monday 27th April – Supporting parents and meeting the needs of the children
Monday 11th May – Listening and communication
Monday 18th May – Safeguarding level 1
