2026 has brought some significant changes for Home-Start Newcastle Borough. With the landscape for charities and voluntary services becoming increasingly challenging it was important that we took the time to look at how we work and what changes we could make to ensure the future sustainability of Home-Start Newcastle Borough for the benefit of the families we support. In the latter months of 2025 we conducted a service review and consequently a staffing restructure.
It is with heavy hearts we said goodbye to Angela, Carole and Wendy, who formally left our service on 31st December.
However we are pleased to announce that Kate Hampton is our new Manager and started in her new role on 1st January 2026. Kate has been with Home-Start Newcastle Borough for over 15 years and has a wealth of knowledge, skills and experience to bring to the role. Having worked closely with the board of trustees and our previous manager for a number of years she has been able to ‘hit the ground running’.
We have also moved to full remote working so as you can imagine the team have spent the beginning of 2026 getting used to a few changes, nevertheless please be reassured that Kate, Sam, Becci and Sophie are working hard and ensuring that we continue to deliver the high quality support we always have to our local families and our wonderful volunteers.
