Kate Hampton
Manager
Hi, I am Kate the Manager here at Home-Start having started my journey with the scheme over 15 years ago – so I know it well! Today I manage the day to day running of the service, with help from our fantastic, professional staff team. I report directly to the Board of Trustee’s and work closely with our Chair of Trustees to oversee effective operations, governance, finances and strategic planning.
When I am not at work you’ll most likely find me at home on our farm in my wellies where spend as much time as I can with my flat coated retrievers.

Sam Hinks
Family Services Co-ordinator
Hi I’m Sam and I am the volunteer Fa,mily Services Coordinator here at Home-Start Newcastle Borough. I have worked for the scheme for over 4 years now, starting my journey as a Family Support Worker before moving into the Volunteer Coordinator role in June 2020. Starting a new position during the pandemic was not easy, but it has been amazing to watch us as a scheme develop and change how we work to meet the needs of the families in a more flexible approach. I work full time, Monday-Friday and spend time working from home and in the office and this allows me to be flexible for families and volunteers. I support and manage a fantastic cohort of volunteers who in turn provide much needed support to families who need a little helping hand.
Outside of work, you will find me at home with my 3 children, 2 cats and our dog (who many of you may have heard about!) it can be very chaotic but there is always a lot of fun. We will go out for long walks with the dog and take him to visit his family – who live with our Office Coordinator Kate. I am often running my children around to their hobbies, as well as renovating our new house, so I have little time to relax at the moment , but when I do get some time to relax , I enjoy some wine time with a good book and glass of wine
